Statement
The purpose of the Detroit Golden Hands
Traveling Bid Whist Club (DGH) is to provide its members an opportunity to socialize with one another,
play a variety of games and compete for fun and prizes at home and aboard in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Continue the legacy
of whist by teaching and educating others. Provide a helping hand when possible to those in need.

Standard Operating Procedures
To accomplish our purpose we have set the following standard
operating procedures:
1.
Board members meet the first Sunday of every month for 2 hours starting promptly at 3pm. All board members and invited parties must be in attendance unless previously excused. The purpose of these
meetings are to:
1a. Discuss and plan the direction of the club
1b. Evaluate our progress
1c. Address immediate problems
1d. Share information and ideas

Membership meeting are held on the third Sunday of every month for 2 hours starting promptly at 3pm. All members must be in attendance unless previously excused. The purpose of these meetings are to:
2a. Discuss future plans for the club
2b. Evaluate our progress
2c. Address concerns of the membership
2d. Share information and ideas
3. Hold
monthly fundraisers. All members are required to work on fundraisers. The purpose of fundraisers are to:
3a. Keep membership dues at a minimum
3b. Provide money to cover expenses
of the club
3c. Provide money to send DGH representatives
to tournaments
3d. Provide money to sponsor tournaments
3e. Promote DGH
3f. Keep membership active and involved
4.
Games twice a week. On Wednesday evenings 7pm to
11pm at the Jolly Old Timers (313) 831-5342 located at 641 Forest and Sunday evenings from 5pm to 9pm at 14078 Collingham
Drive (313) 587-9006. The purpose of these games are to provide DGH members an opportunity to:
4a. Socialize with one another
4b. Compete for fun
4c. Practice for tournaments
4d. Share strategies and improve skills
4f. Become familiar with playing with other club members as partners
Financial
Statement
Using monthly fundraisers and membership dues DGH hopes
to keep expenses for individuals to a minimum.
Membership dues are as follows:
1. $10.00
monthly
2. $100.00
annually
3. $110.00
biannually
In addition to normal expenses the money raised will be
used to:
1. Sponsor
a team in The Elite Whist Society of Detroit league
2. Sponsor
representatives to tournaments
3. Prizes
4. Charitable

Organizational
Chart
Below is a list of the Board of Directors for DGH and their
function. All positions are elected for a term of two years.
Board
members may be removed for abusing their position or failure to perform the duties of their position. The procedure is as follows:
1. A petition
stating specific complaints and signed by at least 10% of the membership is submit to the Recording Secretary and the President
2. The petition
is recorded in the official minutes by the Recording Secretary
3. The board
member is presented with the complaints against them within 3 days
4. A vote
is held 14 days from the date the Board member is notified of charges
5. If necessary
an election for that position will be held 14 days after removal of the officer
6. The Vice
President will assume all duties of that office until it is filled

1d. Chairs all meetings

all correspondence representing the club

Membership
requirements
Our goal is to accomplish DGHs purpose without taxing the
memberships finances or time. Working together we can successfully reach our
goal.
Membership may be revoked if:
1. Membership
dues are delinquent 3 months
2. Conduct
unbecoming DGH members (same procedure will be used as removing an officer where applicable)
3. Non participation
in fundraising efforts for 3 months
4. Failure
to attend 3 membership meetings without being excused
The following membership requirements have been established
to meet our goal:
1. A deposit
on dues must be made to initiate membership
2. A dues
payment agreement must be signed
3. All monthly
dues are due on the first of the month and must be kept current
4. Unpaid
dues will be accessed a 20% late fee on the last day of the month
5. Annual
agreements must be renewed 1 month prior the year anniversary; dues to be paid by the year anniversary
6. Bi-annual
agreements must be renewed 1 month prior the year anniversary; first installment to be paid by the year anniversary, second
installment to be paid by the last day of the fifth month
7. Participation
in all fundraisers
8. Attends
all monthly membership meetings unless previously excused
9. Positively
promotes DGH
